Call to Order & Introduction of Guests:  Meeting was called to order by President Norbert Tan at 7:20 p.m. There were no guests present.  In attendance were 30 members.  A Quorum was met.

Board members present:  President Norbert Tan, Vice President Bruce Wendt, Membership Chair Frances Hein, Treasurer Estelle Hughes, Social Chair Margaret Keith, State Board President Bill Landry, Corresponding Secretary Christine Conrad, Recording Secretary Kay Boyer, Queen Wendy Wilson, and Board Delegates Karen Kandarian  and Lyle Mills.

Officers Elected 2012: Motion to elect officers for 2012 Bakersfield Smooth Dancers, Inc Board Members. President Ben Wilson, Vice President Steve Peterson, Recording Secretary Kay Boyer, Treasurer Estelle Hughes, Membership Chair Frances Hein, Social Chair Margaret Keith, Corresponding Secretary Susan Salvucci, Queen Kay Boyer, State Board President Bill Landry, Member at Large Karen Kandarian, Member at Large Jill Calcaterra, Member at Large Lyle Mills was made by Larry Johnson, seconded by Jeanie Leong; Motion was carried by unanimous vote.  All officers elect well need to attend the December 5, 2012 Board Meeting to accept.

Reading and Approval of previous Minutes:  Christine Conrad sent Board Meeting Minutes of October 3, 2011 by email to all Board Members to read prior to meeting.  Motion to approve minutes for October Board meeting was made by Larry Johnson, seconded by Frances Hein; Motion was carried by a unanimous vote.

Treasures Report & Routine Reimbursements:   Treasurer Estelle Hughes – October income $510 and expenses $1061.70.  Checking Account $2931.08 as of November 1, 2011, Savings Account $8438, Special Account $2090.03.

Membership Chairs Report:  Membership Chair Frances Hein – We now have 154 members including new member Mi Harrel.  Nine series of the five session lessons for a total of 45 lessons will be completed November 22, 2011.  There is an average of 47 members attending the Tuesday night lesson. We have 7 provisional’s that will not be ready for membership by December meeting.  If ready at the end of 2011 lessons they should attend the Membership Meeting January 2, 2012 for membership approval.

Social Chair’s Report:  Social Chair Margaret Keith is hosting the November Dance and looking for volunteers to host next year.

October Dance:  The October dance theme was Costume Capers, hosted by Bob and Karen Kandarian, along with their great committee Lyle and Jan Mills, Cezar and Martha Florin and John and Renee Harrar. They held a Costume Grand March and 3 prizes were given out.  There were 73 members in attendance, 6 paying guests, 3 complimentary guests for a total of 82. Of the paying guest there was 1 couple and 4 singles which gave us $85 and donations of $285.  Karen used the $200 allowance for cookies and ice-cream and the three prizes for the winners of the costume march, which came to $116, she will be returning $84.  The forms used at the monthly dance to calculate debt and credit needs to be revised, there are items that are incorrect.

Queens Report:  Queen Wendy Wilson attended the San Fernando Coronations she had a wonderful time and made new friends. Bakersfield had great representation Carlene Miller, Dennis Acosta, Bao Truong, Rose and Steve Peterson and Rich Gonzales attended.

2012 State Board:  Charlene Miller has a crew of people that help her with the Board of Directors.  Charlene will be meeting with the restaurant to make sure that everything is running smoothly.  State Boards will be held March 23, 2012 through March 25, 2012 at the Double Tree.  Practice will start in January for the Friday night skit and the Batman Dance.

Old Business:  Bill Landry has asked the other clubs if they have questions or changes on the spreadsheet to get them to him by the December Board of Directors meeting.

January dues of $125 are due January 1, 2012, they are delinquent if not paid by February 29, 2012.  A $5 fee for each series of 5 lessons will be charged starting January 2012.

Frances Hein “the web site needs to be updated, there is a lot incorrect information posted on it”.  Frances will type correct information and give it to web master.   Charlene Miller, “the club needs someone to step up and take over the managing of the web page”.

Motion to adjourn was made by Frances Hein, seconded by Jerry Conrad; Motion was carried.  Meeting adjourned 8:07 P.M.
